A listening mode that works around the editor

Google Docs draws much of its editor on a canvas, so ordinary page readers often struggle to find the document text. Lullula reads a private, same-session document view and leaves the original untouched.

๐Ÿ’ฌ

Live sentence captions

The sentence being spoken appears at the bottom of the window so you can follow along without editing the document.

๐ŸŽง

600+ natural voices

Choose from neural voices across 80+ languages, or listen without limits using built-in browser voices.

Resume where you stopped

Come back later and continue listening instead of searching for the last paragraph you heard.

Your sharing settings stay the same

Lullula uses the Google Docs session already open in your browser. It does not make a document public or ask you to upload a separate copy. When you choose a premium AI voice or summary, the document text being processed is sent to Lullula's service; Lullula does not sell your reading activity. See the for details.

Questions about Google Docs text to speech

Can Google Docs read a document aloud?

Google Docs supports screen readers, and Chromebook includes Select-to-speak. Lullula adds a simple play button for listening in Chrome, Edge, or Firefox with natural voices and saved progress. See Google's guides for screen-reader support in Docs and Select-to-speak on Chromebook.

Does Lullula work with private Google Docs?

Yes. If the document is open in your signed-in browser, Lullula can read it without changing its sharing settings or requiring you to export a copy.

Why do I see captions instead of highlights inside the document?

Google Docs paints its editor differently from a normal web page. Lullula shows the current sentence in a caption bar instead of changing the document itself.

Will edits appear while Lullula is speaking?

Lullula takes a snapshot of the document the first time it starts reading in a tab. To include edits made while you were listening, reload the tab and press play again.

Is reading Google Docs aloud free?

Yes. Lullula includes unlimited listening with your browser's built-in voices. Premium neural voices and AI summaries use a monthly word allowance.
