Most read-aloud tools just start talking. The good ones understand what they’re reading: where a sentence ends, when to pause, and which word carries the weight. That’s the difference between hearing an article and actually following one.
Same words, same speed. The browser sample is your own system voice, so this is exactly the difference on your machine.
We test the hard part.
Finding text is only the beginning. A stray line your eyes would skip becomes a sentence you have to hear. We measure content extraction against Mozilla Readability — the extraction library behind Firefox Reader View — and publish the full method, the second engine we test, and the pages where we lose.

Does it work on every website?
Lullula reads virtually any text-based page — news, blogs, docs, Wikipedia, and more. A handful of app-style pages with little real text aren't a fit, and you can exclude any site you don't want it on.
Can it read PDFs and EPUBs?
Yes. Open a PDF or EPUB and Lullula reads it aloud with the same sentence highlighting — ideal for research papers and e-books. It works with text-based and scanned PDFs, and with DRM-free EPUBs.
Is there a free version?
Yes. Lullula is free to install and listening in your browser's built-in voices is unlimited, with no account. Without an account you get one free run of 2,000 words in the premium AI voices; a free account makes that 2,000 words every month. Pro adds 120,000-200,000 words a month in premium neural voices, depending on your plan.
How many languages and voices are there?
600+ natural neural voices across 80+ languages. Choose a different narrator per language, and adjust speed anywhere from 0.5× to 2×.
Is my data private?
Generating audio means sending the text you're listening to to our servers to synthesize the voice — Lullula doesn't track your browsing or sell your data. See our Privacy Policy for specifics.
